Types of Visa and Required Documents

• Prepaid special delivery envelope must be provided for postal application.
• Processing time for all kind of visa applications is 4-5 working days upon on the arrival of documents. (We do not count the weekend as the working days)
• The embassy is not responsible for the delay of postal service.

Gratis Diplomatic / Official Courtesy Visa

The required documents for Gratis Diplomatic / Official Courtesy Visa are as follows:

a. duly filled and signed visa application form
b. two recent Passport photos (Scanned photos are not allowed & photo must be taken within the last 6 months)
c. an original diplomatic or official Passport with at least 6 months validity
d. a diplomatic Note Verbal or an appointment letter stating detailed description of the posting and entry to Myanmar
e. a letter of recommendation or invitation from the Ministry concerned in Myanmar and the company or organization in Norway

I. Tourist Visa

Tourist visa is valid for (3) months and duration of stay in Myanmar is (28) days from the date of arrival. Tourists are allowed to stay only in hotels and guesthouses during their visit to Myanmar. Extension of the visa cannot be made.

The required documents for Tourist Visa are as follows:

a. dully filled Visa Application form(English)
b. a copy of Flight Ticket( Round Trip)
c. an original passport with at least 6 months validity
d. two recent Passport photos (Scanned photos are not allowed & photos must be taken within the last 6 months)

II. Business Visa

The required documents for Business Visa (Single Entry) are as follows:

a. dully filled Visa Application form (English)
b. an invitation or sponsor letter from a registered company in Myanmar along with a copy of their company registration certificate
c. a copy of Flight Ticket
d. recommendation letter form Norwegian Company/ Organization
e. an original passport with at least 6 months validity
f. two recent Passport photos (Scanned photos are not allowed & photos must be taken within the last 6 months)

It is valid for up to (3) months and duration of stay in Myanmar is (70) days from the date of arrival. The extension of the visa can be made. 

Business Visa (3Months /6Months/1Year Multiple Entry Visa) 

• Duration of Validity: 3 Months
• Allow multiple entry and stay.
• Can apply stay extension according to the rules and regulations.
• Do not need to exit after staying (70) days.    

Documents Required:

Documentary evidence of the purpose of multiple entry visit to Myanmar along with the same requirements for Single visa type. A copy of previous Single visa entry is needed.

III. Social Visa

An ex-Myanmar citizen, a spouse (a foreigner who married either with Myanmar citizen or with ex-Myanmar citizen) and their children must apply for a social visit visa. It is valid for up to (3) months and duration of stay in Myanmar is (70) days from the date of arrival. The extension of the visa can be made.

The required documents for Social Visa are as follows:

a. dully filled Visa Application form (English)
b. dully filled Admittance form
c. dully filled Social Visa application form in Myanmar (If it is the first time application at the embassy)
d. an invitation Letter from relatives (ID card copy is needed)
e. A copy of Flight Ticket
f. an original passport with at least 6 months validity
g. two recent Passport photos (Scanned photos are not allowed & photos must be taken within the last 6 months)
h. a copy of certificate of marriage or birth certificate if the applicant is married
to a Myanmar citizen

Social Visa (3 Months/6Months/ 1Year Multiple Entry Visa)

• Duration of Validity: 3 Months
• Allow multiple entry and stay.
• Can apply stay extension according to the rules and regulations.
• Do not need to exit after staying (70) days.

Documents required: documentary evidence of the purpose of multiple entry visit to Myanmar along with the same requirements for Single visa type, a copy of previous Single visa entry.

IV. Religious Visa

It is valid for up to (3) months and duration of stay in Myanmar is up to (70) days from the date of arrival. Can apply stay extension according to the rules and regulations.

The required documents for Religious Visa (Single Entry) are as follows:

a. duly filled and signed visa application form
b. two recent Passport photos (Scanned photos are not allowed & photos must be taken within the last 6 months)
c. an original passport with at least 6 months validity
d. a letter of invitation from the Ministry of Religious and Cultural affairs or the concerned meditation center in Myanmar
e. a copy of Flight ticket

Religious Visa (3 Months/6Months/1Year Multiple Entry Visa)

• Duration of Validity: 3 Months
• Allow multiple entry and stay.
• Can apply stay extension according to the rules and regulations.
• Do not need to exit after staying (70) days.

Documents required: documentary evidence of the purpose of multiple entry visit to Myanmar along with the same requirements for Single visa type, a copy of previous Single
visa entry.

V. International Organizations Official Visa

The applicant who works for International Organization which is endorsed by United Nations and registered in Myanmar can apply Official visa.  The validity of visa and duration of stay in Myanmar will be decided by the authority concerned. Extension of the visa can be made. 

Documents required

a. duly filled and signed visa application form.
b. two recent Passport photos (Scanned photos are not allowed & photo must be taken within the last 6 months)
c. an original passport with at least 6 months validity
d. a letter of recommendation or invitation from each of the concerned international
organization in Myanmar and Norway stating where and which activities the
organization will be carrying out
e. the additional documents may be required.

VI. Employment Visa

It is valid for up to (3) months and duration of stay in Myanmar is up to (70) days from the date of arrival. Extension of the visa can be made.

The required documents for Employment Visa are as follows:

a. duly filled and signed Employment visa application form
b. two recent Passport photos with (Scanned photos are not allowed & photo must be taken within the last 6 months)
c. an original passport with at least 6 months validity
d. a letter of recommendation or appointment from the company concerned in Myanmar
e. the additional documents may be required.

VII. Education Visa

It is valid for up to (3) months and duration of stay in Myanmar is up to (90) days from the date of arrival. Can be applied stay extension according to the rules and regulations.

The required documents for Education Visa are as follows:

a. duly filled and signed visa application form.
b. two recent standard Norwegian Passport photos (Scanned photos are not allowed & photos must be taken within the last 6 months)
c. an original passport with at least 6 months validity
d. a letter of recommendation from the respective school or university

VIII. Journalist Visa

The duration of stay in Myanmar will be 28 days.

The required documents for Journalist Visa are as follows:

a. duly filled and signed visa application form
b. two recent Passport photos (Scanned photos are not allowed & photos must be taken within the last 6 months)
c. an original passport with at least 6 months validity
d. a letter of recommendation from each of the concerned media company in Myanmar and Norway stating the contact details of the sponsor in Myanmar
e. a copy of Flight Ticket( Round Trip)

IX. Crew Visa

• The duration of stay in Myanmar will be 90 days.
• Can apply stay extension according to the rules and regulations.

Crew Visa (Single Entry)

a. duly filled and signed visa application form
b. two recent Passport photos (Scanned photos are not allowed & photos must be taken within the last 6 months)
c. an original passport with at least 6 months validity
d. a letter of recommendation or appointment from the company concerned in Myanmar
e. a copy of crew license

Crew Visa (3 Months/6Months/1Year Multiple Entry Visa)

• Duration of Validity: 3 Months
• Allow multiple entry and stay.
• Can apply stay extension according to the rules and regulations.
• Do not need to exit after staying (90) days.

Documents required: documentary evidence of the purpose of multiple entry visit to Myanmar along with the same requirements for Single visa type, a copy of previous Single visa entry.

X. Workshop / Seminar / Meeting/Research Visa 

• Duration of stay (28) Days
• Can apply stay extension according to the rules and regulations for Research purpose, but other types cannot apply.

The required documents for Workshop / Seminar / Meeting/Research Visa are as follows:

a. duly filled and signed visa application form
b. two recent Passport photos (Scanned photos are not allowed & photos must be taken within the last 6 months)
c. an original passport with at least 6 months validity
d. a letter of recommendation or invitation from the Ministry concerned stating the exact date the workshop/ seminar/meeting will be held or the duration the research will be
carried out.
